Lonesome Road

Walked the good path on out to the Gravel Pit Up in N.S. with my old Uncle Bob Bush. Saw our family, Elsie Charles Basque and her daughter Marty, and Marty's daughter Melissa, and Melissa's daughter, Raven.  We share Charles Snow as ancestor. Walked the embittered path at the Gravel Pit where everyone feels the effects of Chief giving jobs to family while the rest of the people live in poverty. Elsie so glad to see "Bobby" again. And where's Joey Bush? Elsie wants to know.

Joey came years ago. And Jackie and Madeline came, too. But I don't think they stopped in to see you. Funny how relatives are these days.

Ma, Gigu, wife of James Bartlett the Indian Guide and Building Mover used to tell Joey Bush, "Go tell that Micmac to come in from the road for a meal" and the man passing by would stop and eat. Gigu taught us all to set a place for the stranger with a gift ready and a place by the fire to hear the stranger's story. I am her Great Grand Daughter who needs a place by the fire to tell my story.
